As of this week, my tech coaching part/time role at Waltz has ended, so I’m back into full retirement. But I will continue to keep myself busy. For example, I will
- Continue my many volunteer roles, mostly with organizations that seek to improve the life of older adults. My longest stint is as a group leader for the Virtual Senior Center, and I also help DOROT, GetSetUp and Senior Planet
- Maintain my regular swimming / walking / bicycling to keep myself in good physical shape
- Maintain friendships with many who I’ve worked with over the years through phone, Zoom and, whenever possible, in person activities
- Help others to navigate retirement through my biweekly session on Secrets to a Successful Retirement (for the Well Connected program at Front Porch)
- Return to regular travel, including opportunities to visit friends as I did during my trip to Chicago and Michigan last spring.
Now 71, I consider myself very fortunate to have had such a long career. I’m also spending time learning about Artificial Intelligence, which is the most exciting aspect of technology that’s affecting all of our lives. Most important, I’ve learned that it’s not necessary to fill up every minute, and to prioritize spending time with people.
