Surprise! Back to Work – Part/Time

A few weeks ago, I started training for a new part/time opportunity for a start-up firm, Waltz, which will provide remote one on one help to older adults with technology challenges. This firm is using a unique approach very different from other IT companies I have worked for:

  • extensive staff training, especially on how to handle customer service with older adults
  • encouraging everyone to be familiar with both PC and Apple devices , providing hardware of the type other than what we are already most familiar with
  • using AI to help diagnose technology questions – this option wasn’t available for past firms I’ve worked for
  • providing a way for staff from different parts of the country to meet in person during the first few days of training

Still in the midst of figuring out how to spend my days during retirement, working part/time provides a wonderful way to provide a bit of structure to my week. While Waltz hasn’t officially launched yet, I will alert you when our services are publicly available.

Also this weekend, Season 9 of the Project Unlonely Project will launch online Sunday, Jun. 1. These are short videos about loneliness, which affects people of all ages. Details are available here.
