Explore New Short Films About Loneliness

It isn’t only older adults that sometimes experience loneliness. In the seventh annual version of the Unlonely Film Festival, you can explore an assortment of 30 short films which focus on this important issue. I attended the launch event (replay is available) last night, and was reminded that the best way to watch is with other people, so you can share your reactions to the films with each other. You can also watch videos from the previous six seasons.

Before watching each video, take a few minutes to review ‘Explore This’ which discusses a bit about the film’s meaning, as well as ‘Meet the Filmaker’ to get to know the director. For those of you who are looking for programming ideas for older adults, this is a great way to create new sessions and stimulate conversation.

I’m just working my way through the films, and will post links to some of my favorites later. Thanks to the Foundation for Art & Healing and founder Jeremy Nobel for putting together this wonderful series.
