In June / July 2020, I delivered several presentations for older adults:
- Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, SeniorTech NYC: Things to Do While Stuck at Home, Tue, 6/16 @ 7 PM – While the pandemic has been challenging for all of us, we have been able to participate in many events from home on our computers or phones, mostly for free. Watch a recording of the class (when prompted for password, enter Seniortech2Do#).
- Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, SeniorTech NYC: Using Your Smartphone to Take Great Pictures, Wed, 6/24 @ 7 PM – You don’t need a fancy camera to take great pictures; I displayed photography I’ve been able to take only with my smartphone – and offered tips on how you can too. Watch a recording of the class (when prompted for password, enter 3n@0H49r) or view presentation.
- PSSLife! University: Stay in Touch Online: Zoom & Other Video Chat Apps, Tue, 6/30 @ 3 PM – During the pandemic we’ve had to learn new ways to connect with friends and family. At this session, I discussed Zoom, which everyone seems to be using now, and other video chat options such as FaceTime, WhatsApp, Google Meet and Skype. Watch a recording of the class.
- Addendum – I repeated my Stay in Touch Online: Zoom & Other Video Chat Apps class Tue, 7/21 @ 7 PM for the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, SeniorTech NYC. Watch a recording of the class (when prompted for password, enter INTOUCH2020!) or view presentation.
In my next Virtual Senior Center presentation on Tue, 7/28, I will be expanding upon my latest blog post, Your Age Doesn’t Matter But Your Attitude Does. (I’ve offered monthly classes on this platform since 2014.)
For more online learning, I also encourage you to visit GetSetup, which features older adults teaching other older adults on a wide variety of topics.
Stay safe and well – and keep learning and engaged during these unusual times!
Way to go Norman!
Keep going!
